Nick Bailey has had a passion for furniture making from the age of 10. He obtained formal qualifications in Fine Furniture Making in London in the late 90s and has been running his own furniture making business in Brisbane for the last seven years. Nick was awarded a Churchill fellowship in 2005, where he traveled for three months working with and learning from some of the best furniture makers in US and England.

John Madden has worked professionally in creative industries for the past 15 years. His career has been very diverse ranging from studio furniture design and manufacture through to project management and marketing. John bases his design philosophy on three simple elements: balance, proportion and colour. Design inspiration is drawn from natural and manufactured systems.

Will Marx

While other kids were playing Atari, Will Marx was in the back shed restoring antique Australian furniture, marveling at the skills of the master craftsmen who crafted this furniture. He worked with the craftsman Robert Dunlop and in 2001 Will started his business in the fine furniture and yacht interior industry. While Will's first passion is design and creation of one off crafted pieces, his company also produces world class, multi million dollar interiors for yachts.

Broc’s passion for wood turning and sculptural work began at the age of 14. Broc worked in the marine industry as a cabinet maker/fitter before starting his own business as a furniture maker. The majority of Broc’s work is from recycled or salvaged timber. Broc’s works of art are designed to display the best quality of the natural medium, timber. Broc shares a shed with Nick Bailey at Eudlo.

Raf Nathan

Raf Nathan has designed and made furniture for over 30 years. Passionate about the innate beauty of wood and trees, he runs a workshop in the Mount Cotton bushland south of Brisbane. Various journeys to Asia have played a significant part in the development of his design style. His work includes tables, cabinets and accessories. Raf is also co-publisher of leading woodwork magazine Australian Wood Review.

Roy Schack

Danish born, Brisbane based furniture maker Roy Schack has been producing one off pieces in Brisbane for 14 years. Roy's work reflects his heritage, with the clean lines of Danish design, but is also influenced by the quiet aesthetics of Japanese style. His design ethos and quality of work are uncompromised, treating each commissioned piece as if it were an exhibition piece. Roy also owns and runs the Brisbane School of Fine Woodwork.

Andrew Ness

When only seven, Andrew ruined his fathers wooden mallet, hammering nails into a lump of wood. 33 years later he replaced the mallet, making it with his own hands. A Graphic Designer for 23 years, Andrew is inspired by beauty in simplicity and the honesty of handmade objects lovingly crafted. Andrew has studied fine furniture making in Australia and New Zealand and has exhibited internationally.
